About Animals and Their Homes Preschool

Ask for 1st grade and you get a hundred near-misses; Animals and Their Homes Preschool is one of the few that answers the question as asked. Only 3 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. Credit goes to STORYKIDS.

Put it to work on animals first. If it survives that, it will survive whatever you had in mind next. Check the background: an illustration sold as a PNG with a soft halo will show that halo on every coloured page you place it on. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every file on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.

Filed as flashcards, pre-k and preschool. Tags are a rough instrument, but a consistent set like that usually means the file is what it claims. We track what people actually type before they land here: watercolor paintings, animal drawings, bird drawing, hibiscus flower drawing and flower drawings. If that is roughly what you were after, this file is in the right family. On this site it lives on the Botanical and Animal Illustrations shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing botanical and animal illustrations rather than searching for it by name. People after this usually search floral, botanical, flower, leaf and plant too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
