If you want the uncomplicated option, Botanical & Garden Watercolor Clipart is it — and most of the time the uncomplicated option is the one you end up using. 113 people have saved it over there, which tells us the idea works for more than just us. It is Artoya's work. 5.0 out of 5 from 1 review — a small sample, but it is the sample there is.

Botanical and animal work is judged at the edges, so zoom in and see whether the leaves and the fur are drawn or blurred. Use it where the file has to disappear behind the thing you are actually making. Spend the minute on the preview at full size — it is where you find out whether botanical and animal illustrations was the description or the aspiration.

Most of the traffic on this shelf comes in on watercolor paintings, animal drawings, bird drawing, hibiscus flower drawing and flower drawings, and we picked the files on it with those requests in mind rather than by browsing prettiest-first. People after this usually search floral, flower, leaf, plant and bird too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place. On this site it lives on the Botanical and Animal Illustrations shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing botanical and animal illustrations rather than searching for it by name.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
