About Spring Leaf Topper
Spring Leaf Topper is our card making pick, and it is a pick rather than a default — we looked at the shelf twice before leaving it on. The save count is still small at 30, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus. Digital Designs by Victoria made it. 5.0 out of 5 from 2 reviews — a small sample, but it is the sample there is.
Put it to work on journaling first. If it survives that, it will survive whatever you had in mind next. Botanical and animal work is judged at the edges, so zoom in and see whether the leaves and the fur are drawn or blurred. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every file on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.
It answers to junk journaling, leaf, leaf topper and leaves, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. People after this usually search floral, botanical, flower, plant and bird too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place. Judged against the requests we see — watercolor paintings, animal drawings, bird drawing, hibiscus flower drawing and flower drawings — this is a middle-of-the-road answer, and middle of the road is usually what the job needs. It is shelved with the rest of the botanical and animal illustrations, and that is the quickest way to see what else sits in the same register before you settle on this one.

How to use this file
- Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
- Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
- Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
- Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
