About Vintage Floral Laser Cut Ornamental Fram

We went back and forth on Vintage Floral Laser Cut Ornamental Fram and kept it, because the alternative was a shelf full of files that look better than they work. There are no reviews on it yet, so judge it by the preview and not by a score that does not exist. Only 11 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. It comes from Creativelab19.

Use it where the file has to disappear behind the thing you are actually making. Botanical and animal art is judged on the edges: zoom into the preview and see whether the leaves and fur are drawn or blurred. Before downloading, give the preview a full-size look and read the licence tab — two clicks, and they answer most of what the listing leaves unsaid.

The wording people arrive with is watercolor paintings, animal drawings, bird drawing, hibiscus flower drawing and flower drawings, and we would rather shelve for those requests than for how a thumbnail looks in a grid. On this site it lives on the Botanical and Animal Illustrations shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing botanical and animal illustrations rather than searching for it by name. The neighbouring searches are flower, leaf, plant, bird and watercolor — worth a look if this particular file is close but not quite it.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
