About Bird Coloring Pages-5

Bird Coloring Pages-5 earned its place here for one reason: it is a straight answer to activity book, and straight answers are rarer in this file catalogue than you would think. There are no reviews on it yet, so judge it by the preview and not by a score that does not exist. The designer behind it is Pick Craft. Only 1 person has saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's.

Put it to work on bird first. If it survives that, it will survive whatever you had in mind next. We look for a sheet with several angles of the same subject rather than one perfect pose — practice needs the awkward views too. We check two things before any download like this: the preview at full size, and whether the licence covers what you plan to do with it.

If you came in looking for boys, children, color and coloring, you are in the right place — the listing carries all of those, which is the clearest sign the designer built it for that job rather than retitled it afterwards. We keep it under Line Art and References, which is where to look if you want the rest of the line art and references we have gone through. People after this usually search line art, outline, sketch, drawing and portrait too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place. Judged against the requests we see — drawing ideas, sketch ideas, flower drawing, drawing reference and anime drawing — this is a middle-of-the-road answer, and middle of the road is usually what the job needs.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
