About Borders and Frames Collection

Most of what turns up under art line needs work before it is usable. Borders and Frames Collection is the version that does not. The buyers who left a word rate it 5.0 out of 5 — 2 reviews, all of them on the listing. It comes from shahtech50. With 25 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size.

Reference line art is for practice, so clean unbroken outlines matter; a sketchy reference teaches you somebody else's shaky hand. Put it to work on border first. If it survives that, it will survive whatever you had in mind next. Before downloading, give the preview a full-size look and read the licence tab — two clicks, and they answer most of what the listing leaves unsaid.

The words on the listing are border line, border outline, borders frames and border shape, and they are worth reading as a description rather than as tags. What this shelf gets asked for is drawing ideas, sketch ideas, flower drawing, drawing reference and anime drawing. That list is why these files are here and not some prettier ones. Nearby you will see line art, sketch, drawing, portrait and anatomy, which is where to go if this one is nearly right but not quite. You will find it among the line art and references, sorted next to everything that does roughly the same job.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
