About Cat Illustrations

If adorable is what you came for, start here — Cat Illustrations is the plainest reading of that request on the Line Art and References shelf. No reviews either way, so the preview is doing all the work on this one. It is G93's work. Plenty of people got here before us: 129 of them saved it.

Our own plan for it is animal, because that is where this kind of file does the least arguing with you. Reference line art is for practice, so clean unbroken outlines matter; a sketchy reference teaches you somebody else's shaky hand. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every file on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.

The words on the listing are art, background, black and care, and they are worth reading as a description rather than as tags. On this site it lives on the Line Art and References shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing line art and references rather than searching for it by name. The same shelf also answers to line art, outline, sketch, drawing and portrait, so widen the search there before giving up on it. The searches that bring people to this shelf are drawing ideas, sketch ideas, flower drawing, drawing reference and anime drawing — this one sits in the middle of that group rather than off to the side of it.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
