About Flowers for Kdp

Flowers for Kdp earned its place here for one reason: it is a straight answer to beautiful, and straight answers are rarer in this file catalogue than you would think. Credit goes to Pick Craft. No reviews either way, so the preview is doing all the work on this one. Only 2 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's.

Reference line art is for practice, so clean unbroken outlines matter; a sketchy reference teaches you somebody else's shaky hand. Our own plan for it is beauty, because that is where this kind of file does the least arguing with you. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether beautiful is really what you are getting.

It answers to art, book, books and boys, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. We keep it under Line Art and References, which is where to look if you want the rest of the line art and references we have gone through. Judged against the requests we see — drawing ideas, sketch ideas, flower drawing, drawing reference and anime drawing — this is a middle-of-the-road answer, and middle of the road is usually what the job needs. The neighbouring searches are line art, outline, sketch, drawing and portrait — worth a look if this particular file is close but not quite it.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
