About Groceries Healthy Food Illustration

Ask for blue cheese and you get a hundred near-misses; Groceries Healthy Food Illustration is one of the few that answers the question as asked. No saves on it yet — new files sit like that for a while, and it says nothing about the file. DEEMKA STUDIO made it. There are no reviews on it yet, so judge it by the preview and not by a score that does not exist.

We keep it filed mentally under bread, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. Reference line art is for practice, so clean unbroken outlines matter; a sketchy reference teaches you somebody else's shaky hand. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether blue cheese is really what you are getting.

It answers to butter, camembert, cartoon and cheese, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. The wording people arrive with is drawing ideas, sketch ideas, flower drawing, drawing reference and anime drawing, and we would rather shelve for those requests than for how a thumbnail looks in a grid. The neighbouring searches are line art, outline, sketch, drawing and portrait — worth a look if this particular file is close but not quite it. We filed it under Line Art and References for the obvious reason, and the shelf is small enough to read end to end.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
