About Kawaii Food Illustration-004

The reason Kawaii Food Illustration-004 is here is animal and nothing else. It does not try to cover the next three jobs along, and we would rather it did not. Credit goes to Intanseptianakartika. 3 saves mean nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up. No reviews either way, so the preview is doing all the work on this one.

Reference line art is for practice, so clean unbroken outlines matter; a sketchy reference teaches you somebody else's shaky hand. We would use it the way the listing hints — anime — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether animal is really what you are getting.

It answers to art, avatar, baby and background, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. The same shelf also answers to line art, outline, sketch, drawing and portrait, so widen the search there before giving up on it. Put next to the usual requests here — drawing ideas, sketch ideas, flower drawing, drawing reference and anime drawing — this one covers the plain version of the job, which is the version people need most often. We keep it under Line Art and References, which is where to look if you want the rest of the line art and references we have gone through.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
