About Line Art Creator and Patterns Vector

Nothing about Line Art Creator and Patterns Vector is going to surprise you, and on this shelf that counts in its favour. It stands at 5.0 out of 5 across 47 reviews, and we read the low scores first when there are any. 12,681 people have saved it over there, which tells us the idea works for more than just us. It is Busy May Studio's work.

This is a safe default rather than a statement piece, and most jobs want the safe default. Reference line art is for practice, so clean unbroken outlines matter; a sketchy reference teaches you somebody else's shaky hand. We would not hesitate on this one, beyond the two minutes it costs to read the licence tab.

You will find it among the line art and references, sorted next to everything that does roughly the same job. Most of the traffic on this shelf comes in on drawing ideas, sketch ideas, flower drawing, drawing reference and anime drawing, and we picked the files on it with those requests in mind rather than by browsing prettiest-first. The neighbouring searches are outline, sketch, drawing, portrait and anatomy — worth a look if this particular file is close but not quite it.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
