About Luxury Divider

This is the one we reach for when the request is acrylic cutting. Luxury Divider keeps it simple, which is why it sits here rather than in the reserve pile. Credit goes to Platinum Monograms. Unreviewed so far — read that as untested rather than as a verdict. It is quiet on saves so far, so take this as our opinion rather than the crowd's.

If you want one use for it, take acrylic engraving: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. Reference line art is for practice, so we pick the sheets with clean, unbroken outlines; a sketchy reference teaches you somebody else's shaky hand. One thing we always do and you should too: open the preview full size. A thumbnail hides exactly the detail that decides whether acrylic cutting is really what you are getting.

Type black silhouette, cnc cutting, cnc design and cnc router into the search above and this one comes back — the same file under four different habits of phrasing. The neighbouring searches are line art, outline, sketch, drawing and portrait — worth a look if this particular file is close but not quite it. We keep it under Line Art and References, which is where to look if you want the rest of the line art and references we have gone through. Judged against the requests we see — drawing ideas, sketch ideas, flower drawing, drawing reference and anime drawing — this is a middle-of-the-road answer, and middle of the road is usually what the job needs.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
