About Naive Starburst Shape Collection

Ask for abstract shape and you get a hundred near-misses; Naive Starburst Shape Collection is one of the few that answers the question as asked. 1 save means nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up. It is DesignVectx's work. No reviews either way, so the preview is doing all the work on this one.

We would use it the way the listing hints — accent shape — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. We look for a sheet with several angles of the same subject rather than one perfect pose — practice needs the awkward views too. Spend the minute on the preview at full size — it is where you find out whether abstract shape was the description or the aspiration.

The listing files it under attention symbol, black, black outline and burst — those are the words it gets found by, and between them they describe the file better than any category name does. Related wording on the shelf: line art, sketch, drawing, portrait and anatomy. Same shelf, different phrasing, and the sort options above work across all of it. Most of the traffic on this shelf comes in on drawing ideas, sketch ideas, flower drawing, drawing reference and anime drawing, and we picked the files on it with those requests in mind rather than by browsing prettiest-first. On this site it lives on the Line Art and References shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing line art and references rather than searching for it by name.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
