About Noodle Buddy: the Chibi Cup That’s Too C

Most of what turns up under adorable needs work before it is usable. Noodle Buddy: the Chibi Cup That’s Too C is the version that does not. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. davidstephanus made it. It sits at 5 saves — too few to call it popular, which is exactly why it is worth a look before everyone else finds it.

Reference line art is for practice, so we pick the sheets with clean, unbroken outlines; a sketchy reference teaches you somebody else's shaky hand. We keep it filed mentally under anime, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. Before downloading, give the preview a full-size look and read the licence tab — two clicks, and they answer most of what the listing leaves unsaid.

The listing files it under arms, art, blush and bowl — those are the words it gets found by, and between them they describe the file better than any category name does. If none of this quite fits, the adjacent requests are line art, outline, sketch, drawing and portrait and they stay on this page. Put next to the usual requests here — drawing ideas, sketch ideas, flower drawing, drawing reference and anime drawing — this one covers the plain version of the job, which is the version people need most often. You will find it among the line art and references, sorted next to everything that does roughly the same job.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
