About Old Mansion Scary Halloween House

Most of what turns up under antique needs work before it is usable. Old Mansion Scary Halloween House is the version that does not. 5.0 out of 5 from 1 review — a small sample, but it is the sample there is. With 59 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size. The designer behind it is Stian Iversen.

Reference line art is for practice, so clean unbroken outlines matter; a sketchy reference teaches you somebody else's shaky hand. The obvious job for it is background, and obvious is right here — the file was built around that and it shows. Before downloading, give the preview a full-size look and read the licence tab — two clicks, and they answer most of what the listing leaves unsaid.

The words on the listing are art, classic, craft and decor, and they are worth reading as a description rather than as tags. The searches that bring people to this shelf are drawing ideas, sketch ideas, flower drawing, drawing reference and anime drawing — this one sits in the middle of that group rather than off to the side of it. You will find it among the line art and references, sorted next to everything that does roughly the same job. The neighbouring searches are line art, outline, sketch, drawing and portrait — worth a look if this particular file is close but not quite it.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
