About Retro Halftone Photo Effect Bundle

Retro Halftone Photo Effect Bundle is our aesthetic pick, and it is a pick rather than a default — we looked at the shelf twice before leaving it on. The buyers who left a word rate it 5.0 out of 5 — 1 review, all of them on the listing. Only 3 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. Credit goes to mristudio.

Reference line art is for practice, so we pick the sheets with clean, unbroken outlines; a sketchy reference teaches you somebody else's shaky hand. The obvious job for it is analog, and obvious is right here — the file was built around that and it shows. Spend the minute on the preview at full size — it is where you find out whether aesthetic was the description or the aspiration.

It answers to art, artistic, bundle and comic, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. People after this usually search line art, outline, sketch, drawing and portrait too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place. You will find it among the line art and references, sorted next to everything that does roughly the same job. Put next to the usual requests here — drawing ideas, sketch ideas, flower drawing, drawing reference and anime drawing — this one covers the plain version of the job, which is the version people need most often.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
