About Logo, Kids Logo

What we like about Logo, Kids Logo is how little it tries to be everything — it does abstract, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Printable Illustrations shelf. 2 saves mean nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. The designer behind it is daisy things.

We keep it filed mentally under academic, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. If you plan to print it, look for the largest size the file supports — an illustration that is perfect on screen can be grainy on paper. Spend the minute on the preview at full size — it is where you find out whether abstract was the description or the aspiration.

The words on the listing are area, art, baby and background, and they are worth reading as a description rather than as tags. The same shelf also answers to illustration, clipart, clip art and printable, so widen the search there before giving up on it. It is shelved with the rest of the printable illustrations, and that is the quickest way to see what else sits in the same register before you settle on this one. The wording people arrive with is doodle art, art sketches, sketchbook art inspiration, art drawings sketches and line art, and we would rather shelve for those requests than for how a thumbnail looks in a grid.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
