About Monkey Logo

Monkey Logo stayed on the shelf for the dull reason that it works. We would rather have one of these than three files with ideas of their own. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence. Credit goes to rohady286. It sits at 1 saves — too few to call it popular, which is exactly why it is worth a look before everyone else finds it.

Use it where the file has to disappear behind the thing you are actually making. If you plan to print it, look for the largest size the file supports — an illustration that is perfect on screen can be grainy on paper. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every file on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.

Nearby you will see clipart, clip art and art, which is where to go if this one is nearly right but not quite. What this shelf gets asked for is doodle art, art sketches, sketchbook art inspiration, art drawings sketches and line art. That list is why these files are here and not some prettier ones. It is shelved with the rest of the printable illustrations, and that is the quickest way to see what else sits in the same register before you settle on this one.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
