About Easter Egg Hunt Buttons and Brads

This is the one we reach for when the request is card making. Easter Egg Hunt Buttons and Brads keeps it simple, which is why it sits here rather than in the reserve pile. 5.0 out of 5 from 3 reviews — a small sample, but it is the sample there is. With 51 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size. Digital Designs by Victoria made it.

A texture is only as useful as the resolution it ships at, so check it covers the canvas you work on before building a piece around it. We would use it the way the listing hints — button — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. We would not hesitate on this one, beyond the two minutes it costs to read the licence tab.

Filed as brad, faux brad, faux button and journaling. Tags are a rough instrument, but a consistent set like that usually means the file is what it claims. You will find it among the textures and effects, sorted next to everything that does roughly the same job. Most of the traffic on this shelf comes in on action poses reference drawing, tattoo style drawings, paper airplane drawing, manga style drawing and paper boat drawing, and we picked the files on it with those requests in mind rather than by browsing prettiest-first. People after this usually search texture, effect, action, overlay and style too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
