About Recipe Cards. Pages for Culinary Book
What we like about Recipe Cards. Pages for Culinary Book is how little it tries to be everything — it does avocado, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Textures and Effects shelf. The save count is still small at 6, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus. The designer behind it is tartila.stock. There are no reviews on it yet, so judge it by the preview and not by a score that does not exist.
A texture is only as good as the resolution it is supplied at, so we check that it covers the canvas we work on before we start layering with it. We keep it filed mentally under banana, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.
Filed as blender, book, bowl and card. Tags are a rough instrument, but a consistent set like that usually means the file is what it claims. Its home here is Textures and Effects — open that shelf if you would rather compare a few before choosing. Nearby you will see texture, effect, action, overlay and style, which is where to go if this one is nearly right but not quite. The searches that bring people to this shelf are action poses reference drawing, tattoo style drawings, paper airplane drawing, manga style drawing and paper boat drawing — this one sits in the middle of that group rather than off to the side of it.

How to use this file
- Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
- Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
- Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
- Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
