About Retro Text Effect Virtual Thing Futurist
This is the one we reach for when the request is bright. Retro Text Effect Virtual Thing Futurist keeps it simple, which is why it sits here rather than in the reserve pile. 1 save means nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up. The designer behind it is diqtam. No reviews either way, so the preview is doing all the work on this one.
A texture is only as good as the resolution it is supplied at, so we check that it covers the canvas we work on before we start layering with it. We keep it filed mentally under chrome, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. Spend the minute on the preview at full size — it is where you find out whether bright was the description or the aspiration.
It answers to classic, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. The same shelf also answers to texture, action, overlay, style and add-on, so widen the search there before giving up on it. Put next to the usual requests here — action poses reference drawing, tattoo style drawings, paper airplane drawing, manga style drawing and paper boat drawing — this one covers the plain version of the job, which is the version people need most often. On this site it lives on the Textures and Effects shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing textures and effects rather than searching for it by name.

How to use this file
- Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
- Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
- Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
- Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
