About Prussian Carp Watercolor

If you want the uncomplicated option, Prussian Carp Watercolor is it — and most of the time the uncomplicated option is the one you end up using. The review tab is empty. That is normal here and not a warning, but it does put the preview in charge. Enliven Designs made it. It sits at 5 saves — too few to call it popular, which is exactly why it is worth a look before everyone else finds it.

Use it where the file has to disappear behind the thing you are actually making. Check the background: an illustration sold as a PNG with a soft halo will show that halo on every coloured page you place it on. Open it big before you commit. At thumbnail size every file on this shelf looks equally good, which is the problem with thumbnails.

The neighbouring searches are floral, flower, leaf, plant and bird — worth a look if this particular file is close but not quite it. Judged against the requests we see — watercolor paintings, animal drawings, bird drawing, hibiscus flower drawing and flower drawings — this is a middle-of-the-road answer, and middle of the road is usually what the job needs. You will find it among the botanical and animal illustrations, sorted next to everything that does roughly the same job.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
