About Halloween Flourish Dividers

What we like about Halloween Flourish Dividers is how little it tries to be everything — it does bats, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Printable Illustrations shelf. No reviews either way, so the preview is doing all the work on this one. Credit goes to nurearth. 1 save means nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up.

If it is going on paper, look for the largest size the file supports — an illustration that is perfect on screen can be grainy in print. Our own plan for it is border, because that is where this kind of file does the least arguing with you. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.

The listing files it under calligraphy, certificate, classical and corner — those are the words it gets found by, and between them they describe the file better than any category name does. The searches that bring people to this shelf are doodle art, art sketches, sketchbook art inspiration, art drawings sketches and line art — this one sits in the middle of that group rather than off to the side of it. The neighbouring searches are illustration, clipart, clip art, printable and art — worth a look if this particular file is close but not quite it. We filed it under Printable Illustrations for the obvious reason, and the shelf is small enough to read end to end.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
