About Retro Arcade Machine Vector
What we like about Retro Arcade Machine Vector is how little it tries to be everything — it does art, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Textures and Effects shelf. It is tempurrastudio's work. Only 1 person has saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's. Unreviewed so far — read that as untested rather than as a verdict.
We would use it the way the listing hints — background — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. A texture is only as good as the resolution it is supplied at, so we check that it covers the canvas we work on before we start layering with it. Before downloading, give the preview a full-size look and read the licence tab — two clicks, and they answer most of what the listing leaves unsaid.
It answers to arcade and bit, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. People after this usually search texture, effect, action, overlay and style too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place. What this shelf gets asked for is action poses reference drawing, tattoo style drawings, paper airplane drawing, manga style drawing and paper boat drawing. That list is why these files are here and not some prettier ones. It is shelved with the rest of the textures and effects, and that is the quickest way to see what else sits in the same register before you settle on this one.

How to use this file
- Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
- Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
- Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
- Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
