About Polaroid Collections

What we like about Polaroid Collections is how little it tries to be everything — it does background, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Botanical and Animal Illustrations shelf. The review tab is empty. That is normal here and not a warning, but it does put the preview in charge. The designer behind it is Raya Design. Only 13 people have saved it so far, so this is our pick rather than the crowd's.

Botanical and animal work is judged at the edges, so zoom in and see whether the leaves and the fur are drawn or blurred. We keep it filed mentally under blank, which is the use that needs the least adjusting afterwards. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.

Filed as design, empty, flower and frame photography. Tags are a rough instrument, but a consistent set like that usually means the file is what it claims. The neighbouring searches are floral, botanical, leaf, plant and bird — worth a look if this particular file is close but not quite it. The searches that bring people to this shelf are watercolor paintings, animal drawings, bird drawing, hibiscus flower drawing and flower drawings — this one sits in the middle of that group rather than off to the side of it. Its home here is Botanical and Animal Illustrations — open that shelf if you would rather compare a few before choosing.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
