About Polaroid Collections

Ask for background and you get a hundred near-misses; Polaroid Collections is one of the few that answers the question as asked. It comes from Raya Design. 7 saves mean nobody has tested it for you. We still think it holds up. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence.

Our own plan for it is blank, because that is where this kind of file does the least arguing with you. Botanical and animal art is judged on the edges: zoom into the preview and see whether the leaves and fur are drawn or blurred. Spend the minute on the preview at full size — it is where you find out whether background was the description or the aspiration.

Filed as design, empty, flower and frame photography. Tags are a rough instrument, but a consistent set like that usually means the file is what it claims. Most of the traffic on this shelf comes in on watercolor paintings, animal drawings, bird drawing, hibiscus flower drawing and flower drawings, and we picked the files on it with those requests in mind rather than by browsing prettiest-first. If none of this quite fits, the adjacent requests are floral, botanical, leaf, plant and bird and they stay on this page. It is shelved with the rest of the botanical and animal illustrations, and that is the quickest way to see what else sits in the same register before you settle on this one.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
