About Minimalist Botanical Line Drawing

The reason Minimalist Botanical Line Drawing is here is artwork and nothing else. It does not try to cover the next three jobs along, and we would rather it did not. There are no reviews on it yet, so judge it by the preview and not by a score that does not exist. Credit goes to SKShagor Barmon. With 1 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size.

If you want one use for it, take black and white: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. We look for a sheet with several angles of the same subject rather than one perfect pose — practice needs the awkward views too. Before downloading, give the preview a full-size look and read the licence tab — two clicks, and they answer most of what the listing leaves unsaid.

Type botanical, bouquet, clip art and concepts into the search above and this one comes back — the same file under four different habits of phrasing. If none of this quite fits, the adjacent requests are line art, outline, sketch, portrait and anatomy and they stay on this page. Judged against the requests we see — drawing ideas, sketch ideas, flower drawing, drawing reference and anime drawing — this is a middle-of-the-road answer, and middle of the road is usually what the job needs. On this site it lives on the Line Art and References shelf, so it also turns up for people browsing line art and references rather than searching for it by name.

How to use this file

  1. Download the set from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — brush sets arrive as .brushset for Procreate or .abr for Photoshop.
  2. Open the brush file on the iPad and it installs itself into a new set; in Photoshop, drag the .abr onto the canvas.
  3. Try every brush once on a scrap canvas and delete the ones you will not use — a bloated brush list slows you down more than it helps.
  4. Keep reference sheets at full size in a separate folder: downscaled references hide exactly the detail you needed them for.
